Slow Days in Santorini
Oia,
Greece
•
Whitewashed streets, endless blue, and the best sunset I have ever watched from a rooftop.
Blue on blue on blue
There is a reason every photo of Santorini looks the same — the contrast of white stone against that deep Aegean blue is genuinely hard to look away from. I rented a tiny studio in Oia and did almost nothing for a week.
Days were for swimming and reading; evenings were for finding a new rooftop to watch the sun drop into the sea. The crowds gather for sunset, but if you walk five minutes past the famous spot you get it almost to yourself.
Worth doing
Take the boat out to the caldera and swim in the warm springs. Eat tomato fritters. Don’t over-plan — the island rewards wandering.
